Cerro Flow Products LLC® Introduces CopperBOSS™ for Lead Service Line Replacement and Underground Copper Installations

Patent-pending system brings long-length Type K copper coils directly to the jobsite, helping plumbing contractors improve material efficiency, generate less jobsite material scrap, and support drinking water infrastructure projects.

CopperBOSS™ Brings Long-Length Type K Copper Directly to the Jobsite

SAUGET, IL USA — Cerro Flow Products LLC® introduces CopperBOSS™, a patent-pending bulk copper plumbing tube payoff system designed for lead service line replacement, underground domestic water, and new service line installations in Residential Construction Projects.

CopperBOSS™ combines long-length coils of Type K copper tube with a truck-bed mounted reel machine, allowing contractors to cut custom lengths of copper tube directly at the jobsite. Available through Cerro’s stocking wholesalers throughout the United States, CopperBOSS™ is designed to help contractors improve material efficiency, support jobsite productivity, and add value to lead service line replacement projects.

Designed to Help Contractors Improve Material Efficiency

The system was developed in response to feedback from plumbing contractors who were frustrated by the limitations of standard copper coil lengths. Preferred LSLR construction methods involve pulling the new copper line underground which requires continuous long lengths of tube without couplings. Continuous long length copper tubing eliminates the risk of a leak at a coupling when ground settles. For these reasons, short cut lengths of copper tube become scrap. CopperBOSS™ Long Length Type K Copper Tubing eliminates these challenges by allowing contractors to cut the exact length they need in the field.

Available CopperBOSS™ Coil Sizes

CopperBOSS™ coils are available in the following ASTM B88 NSF 61-G Certified Type K Plumbing Tube sizes:

¾” Type K: approximately 850 lineal feet
1” Type K: approximately 600 lineal feet
1-¼” Type K: approximately 350 lineal feet

A Field-Deployable Copper Tube Payoff System Built for Contractors

CopperBOSS™ sets Cerro apart by offering some of the longest Plumbing Type K copper coils available in the market, along with a field-deployable system built for contractors. The compact system can be loaded with two coils and transported in the back of a standard pickup truck or trailer. Its measuring wheel allows installers to quickly cut copper to specific lengths, helping improve material efficiency, reduce excess packaging, and simplify handling at the jobsite. The asset tracking device and custom tarp cover also help reduce the risk of theft.

Supporting More Efficient Lead Service Line Replacement Projects

Based on field installation projects in Michigan and Indiana, the CopperBOSS™ system has demonstrated the potential to improve material efficiency by up to 30%. While copper is 100% recyclable, excess material can create unnecessary cost challenges for contractors. When contractors use more of the copper they purchase, CopperBOSS™ improves project profitability.

Made in the USA and BABAA-Compliant

The CopperBOSS™ payoff device and coil system is made in the USA and is BABAA-compliant for publicly funded infrastructure projects. As communities across the country continue replacing aging lead service lines, CopperBOSS™ provides contractors, utilities, and distributors with an innovative solution designed to support faster, cleaner, and more efficient installations.
